Job Description:

Accounting Clerk IIResponsibilities:Employees in this job process payments primarily to vendors with whom the University does business. Prompt payment allows the University to maintain good business relationships. The Accounting Clerk II for Accounts Payable also protects University funds by insuring that invoices are accurate and that proper procedures are followed.Process invoices for payment.Resolve invoice/payment discrepancies by communicating with vendors and University employees. Maintain Accounts Payable files.Match checks with appropriate documentation and prepare for disbursement by Cashier's Office.Print Accounts Payable, Student Accounts and Student Payroll vendor checks.Reconcile vendor statements.Other duties as assigned.Assist in preparation and maintenance of department manuals.Special projects as needed such as: Sort and distribute department mail in absence of Admin.Assistant; Assist with Issuance of 1099; Review/invoices for fixed asset categories.Qualifications:High School diploma required. A minimum of two years of work experience in Accounts Payable is required. Some College level accounting preferred. Graduation from a vocational/technical business or related school with an emphasis in accounting or business is preferred. A working knowledge of governmental and/or fund accounting is desirable. Qualified individual must be able to compile data from vendor invoices and supporting documents to verify the accuracy of billings, compare invoices to purchase orders, verify receipt of goods, and enter vouchers for payment. Individual will be required to run vendor checks and student refund checks, assists in the maintenance of the computerized vendor files as well as maintain an efficient vendor filing system. Individual must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external entities.Salary: $12.50 - $14.42 per hourLincoln University is an equal opportunity employer.
