Job description:Marketing & Communications ManagerResponsible for public relations and for educating the public about purpose and programs, through a variety of means, including website development, graphic design and publications, video content, public information assistance and support to sports competitions and fundraising promotions.This is a full-time exempt position responsible for statewide public relations for SOMO and for educating the public about SOMO, its purpose and programs, through a variety of means, including website development, graphic design and publications, video content, public information assistance and support to sports competitions and fundraising promotions.Duties:• Ensure mission statement, graphic standards and language guidelines are adhered to throughout statewide organization.• Design and manage content for Special Olympics Missouri website () to be used as a public education, marketing and registration tool. Maintain navigation for sponsors, volunteers, contributors, and athletes.• Direct SOMO's online presence for event registrations and social media messaging, including fundraising platforms.• Oversee publications for the organization.• Manage video library including video production and editing.• Develop, manage and meet annual budget.• Provide leadership, assistance, guidance and support to staff and volunteers sufficient to inspire and motivate those individuals to achieve success and strive for excellence in their Special Olympics Missouri activities.• Ensure all activities conform to SOI General Rules/SOMO Policies.• Ensure assigned annual plan objectives are attained.• Ensure on-going demonstration of SOMO Guiding Values and related behaviors.• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.Required Qualifications/Skills:• Demonstrated experience working with media• Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript• Knowledge of the media landscape and how to pitch stories to media• Strong grammar/proofreading skills• Must be self-motivated• Big, strategic ideas and goals• Willing to step outside comfort zone and try new things• Ability to see things from different perspectives• Ability to adapt and problem solveSkills that aren't necessary, but could help set you apart from other applicants:• Prior Special Olympics experience• Adobe Creative Suite• Event or sports photography• Video filming/editing• Graphic Design• Experience with donor databases (Raiser's Edge, TeamRaiser, etc.)• Knowledge of developing and executing a marketing planBenefits:• Employee Medical, Dental, Life, Travel and Disability Insurance• Paid Sick Leave• Retirement Plan (403B) (Up to 5% Matching)• Thirteen Paid Holidays/Year• Ten Hours/Month Paid VacationSpecial Olympics Missouri is an equal opportunity employer.
