What You Will Achieve
As the Global Engineering Capital Subject Matter Expert, you will provide Capital planning leadership and support to several sites by partnering with the Global Engineering (GE) Cluster/Tech Area Lead, site engineering and other Capital stakeholders. As an integral member of a matrix/cross-functional team, you will serve as a Capital planning and management SME, lead standardization and execution of Capital planning processes and prepare/submit financial plans (3,000 projects with -$1.3B/year in total site spend in aggregate) for incorporation into Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) Capital Corporate submissions.

How You Will Achieve It
Annual Capital Plan Development - Site Spend



  • Identify and translate operational requirements into a financial plan (3-year) for each site, cluster and OpU.


  • Prepare 3-yr Capital plan (Maintenance & Capacity) that is consistent with Site Master/Site NetZero Master Plans, with focus on top 12 sites that account for 90% of site spend and ad hoc investments. Submit 3-year plan by site, cluster/tech area and OpU to Capital Planning team for incorporation into PGS Corporate Submission.


  • Lead annual investment allocation process/prioritization across sites to determine high-priority projects and risk to product supply for lower-priority projects that are either not funded or delayed.


  • Determine and collect data required from sites to finalize 3-year Capital Plan submission.


    Current Year Budget/LE Preparation and Actuals Tracking - Capital Budget Management of Site Spend


    • Partner with sites to develop annual Capital budgets and forecasts (LE2, LE3, LE4) and underlying operational assumptions. Submit FY and monthly budgets/LEs by site/Cluster/OpU for incorporation into Corporate Submissions.


    • Prepare Capital budgets and underlying operational assumptions. Once Cluster/Tech Area GE Lead signs off, submit FY and monthly budgets by site/Cluster/OpU to Capital Planning team for incorporation into Corporate Submissions.


    • Review budgets for top 12 sites for reasonableness and overall feasibility. Provide guidance, coaching & connection between operational milestones/timelines and financial forecasts.


    • Provide in-depth knowledge of Capital processes, write-offs, ad hoc questions.


    • Pressure-test assumptions, ensure overall forecast is reasonable and achievable for top 12 sites that account for 90% of site spend.


    • Explain drivers for variances of actuals vs. budget and forecast. Proactively determine measures to get back to budget or adjust forecast in cases of significant YTD variances.


      CPA Preparation


      • Assist sites in preparing and submitting all CPAs for projects $10-50M.


      • Ensure CPAs are clear, concise, provide operational milestones, timelines and accompanying financial forecasts.


        Stakeholder/Leadership Relationship Management


        • Maintain strong partnerships with Operations, PGS Strategy, Finance, GBS.


        • Ensure alignment with PGS leadership priorities and strategies.


        • Own Capital metrics reporting.


          Qualifications
          Must-Have


          • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering or finance.


          • 7+ years of relevant experience.


          • Strong financial acumen, critical thinking, project management and analytical skills.


          • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.


          • Ability to drive deliverable completion/results and work effectively in highly matrixed organizations.


          • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments.


          • Strategic and analytical thinking.


          • Ability to lead and manage change, be decisive and focused.


          • Being open to new ideas, and desire to challenge the status quo.

            Nice-to-Have



            • 5 years experience in site engineering, operations or finance.




            • 2 years experience leading cross-functional initiatives, driving projects to completion.



            • Capital project execution experience a plus.

                The annual base salary for this position ranges from $113,900.00 to $189,700.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.
                Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
