the organizationI. Job SummaryThe role will join a team that
provides industrial controls, process automation, and SCADA in
several cross-functional fields such as Wastewater, Renewable
Energy, Power Plants, Cloud SCADA, Recycling Automation, Plant
Design, Drones, MES Systems, Satellite Imaging, and Advanced Data
Analytics. In the new age of Industrial 4.0, WM is at the forefront

processes aligned with corporate strategy, which includes business
requirements gathering, process development, piloting, and
implementation. This person relies on extensive experience and
judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of tasks,
and leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of
creativity and latitude is expected.II. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities include the following:Direct support of process
control design, development & commissioning for WM Renewable Energy
plantsProvide leadership, vision, and direction to define & execute
the companys Renewable Energy automation strategy.Provide expertise
in design and approaches to automation.Work closely with vendors
and internal WM operations teams to design & integrate solutions
and oversee projects.Lead design reviews, define and document
project scope, and manage SOWs.Proactively identify project
bottlenecks and proactively mitigate risks.Subject matter expert
for industrial automationRockwell Automation PLC & HMI development
(PlantPAX)Designs field electrical and SCADA control systems in
support of landfill disposal operations associated with landfill
gas collection and leachate collection, treatment and recycling
facilities.Assist with troubleshooting programming and system
faults for installed field and plant equipment; modify existing
programs to improve sequencing, add/modify/remove alarms, and aide
in improved troubleshooting and error response within the plant
PLCs, Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and automated systems.Work
in a team environment to develop corporate specifications for
industrial control systems, instrumentation and other hardware.Work
in a team environment to manage & design company wide SCADA
platforms and other industrial automation projects.Oversees
calibrates, programs, and installations of software updates to
field installed equipment and instrumentsOversees & manage third
party contractors during system install to develop update/redline
system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.Project
managementRetrieves electronic data stored on field PLCs to analyze
operational data to diagnose and resolve performance issues of
leachate collection and treatment systems, landfill gas flares, and
gas-to-energy facilities.Prepare costs estimates, and purchase of
field equipment and instruments.Conducts site visits to analyze
field conditions in to define project requirements, equipment and
instrumentation needs; perform technical calculations supporting
design including electrical requirements, instrumentation needs,
and standards, and motor controls.Executes field system
commissioning and startup activities for projects.Specify equipment
and upgrades throughout a facility and individual pieces of
equipment.Conducts field-based validations of landfill monitoring
and control systems, which include pneumatics, variable frequency
drive (vfds), relays, control valves, instrumentation,
communication networks, touchscreens, and industrial control
panels.Ability to architect programs that are simple to test, well
documented and versatile.Maintain accurate records and files
according to quality standard.Performs other assignments as
directed by a supervisor.Ensure 100% environmental compliance in
all work activities and follow environmental rules and
regulations.III. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMust be able to
oversee and direct third-party contractors during field
activities.Must be able to coordinate field activities between site
teams and contractors.Review contractor invoices and ensure timely
submission.IV. QualificationsA. Education and ExperienceEducation:
Bachelors of Science Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree,
High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant
experience.Experience: 5 years of SCADA system (including
instrument/equipment selection, installation, PLC programming,
etc.) field installation and troubleshooting support (in addition
to education requirement).B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
or Other RequirementsNone required.C. Other Knowledge, Skills or
Abilities RequiredMust be able to work at a fast past and resolve
issues independently.Project engineering management, industrial
control wiring, industrial control systems, industrial networking,
and process design knowledge is necessary.Analyzing data and
presenting findings in written reportsUnderstanding of computer
networkingRelay LogicAbility to troubleshoot PLC control systems
(including, Allen Bradley - Ladder Logic, Direct Soft, and
