Provide expert nursing care in a dynamic Stepdown unit that supports diverse patient needs including surgical, medical, and neurological cases. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor and care for patients with varied diagnoses including advanced medical, surgical, and neuro conditions. - Manage intravenous insertions, PICC and central lines, and vascular access devices confidently. - Perform dialysis fistula care and A-line management competently. - Administer vasoactive drip titration including medications such as neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem. - Provide airway management including CPAP, BiPAP, and trach care. - Manage pain and sedation with epidural and PCA pumps, feeding tubes, and wound vac devices. - Demonstrate cardiac care skills including obtaining 12-lead EKGs and assisting with cardioversion/defibrillation. - Operate common equipment such as bladder scanners, IV pumps, PCA pumps, SCDs, and advanced respiratory devices. - Maintain a nurse-patient ratio around 1:3, adjusting care to meet individual patient needs.
