Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity exists for a registered nurse skilled in Stepdown care to support patient recovery in a high-acuity environment. This contract position offers a focused night shift schedule in an acute care hospital setting, providing critical clinical experience with complex patient populations. Location:Situated in Saint Charles, MO, this facility offers the advantages of a culturally rich community with ample amenities, parks, and easy access to metropolitan attractions. The hospital serves a broad patient base and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support advanced nursing care. Responsibilities: - Provide skilled nursing care on the Stepdown Unit during night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. - Manage patients requiring vasopressors, sedation medications, insulin drips, trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. - Float within the facility to lower acuity units as needed, maintaining flexible competency. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic charting. - Ensure compliance with hospital policies and standards of care. Qualifications & Experience: - Minimum of 2 years recent bedside nursing experience, particularly in Stepdown or critical care settings. - Current certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale. - Ability to perform complex medication titrations and manage advanced medical devices. - Recent hands-on clinical experience within the last six months. - Willingness to work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday) on nights. - Pending nursing licenses accepted within a 75-mile radius. Schedule: - Guaranteed 36 hours per week, working three 12-hour night shifts.
