Job Description:

The City of Jefferson is currently accepting applications for a Part Time Service Worker for our Public Works- Transit Department. This position will perform general facility cleaning and light maintenance, and occasionally cleans transit buses. Ideal applicant must be available, Monday - Friday from 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Examples of Duties: Cleans transit facility and buses. Maintains grounds, follows daily cleaning list, sweeps sidewalks, shovels snow and ice, spreads salt, and removes litter around buildings. May cut grass, trim shrubs and rake leaves as needed. Coordinates maintenance priorities supplies. Typical Qualifications: Physical: Ability to move or lift furniture, supplies and equipment weighing 50+ pounds. Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop lift and reach. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods. Mental: Ability to remember and follow simple oral and written instructions and to follow daily routine without supervision.Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Supplemental Information: Must have the availability to work M-F between the hours of 12:30 pm- 4:30pm.
