The Impact You'll Make in this Role

The person hired for the External Relationship Manager will be a key enabler to the success of external partnerships. While partner organizations have been identified; the strategy for how to engage and leverage each partnership in a mutually beneficial way is inconsistent and over indexes on student program hiring - which represent 15% of US hires. To ensure greater strategic alignment, engagement, relevancy and ROI, a dedicated relationship manager enables our broader strategy.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Create and transform a wholistic external relationship strategy to support enterprise talent strategies to deliver short term and long-term results
  • Establish strategy for focused engagement of external partners including the identification, alignment and management of third-party partners
  • Using business and industry knowledge, this person will help identify best practices and accelerate value
  • Establish process and approach to leverage key partnership to support enterprise goals including expanding leader visibility and outreach
  • Transform the university recruiting program to balance and align to the overall enterprise focus on talent
  • Partners closely with Strategic Workforce Managers to understand broader needs
  • Work across TLI to develop aligned and integrated strategy
  • Collaborates with D&I and legal to ensure inclusive approach and compliance expectations are met

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Eight (8) years experience in Human Resources, talent acquisition, diversity strategy

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • MBA
  • Strong project management
  • Ability to influence and challenge leaders
  • Highly collaborative and able to work across HR groups
  • Pragmatic, pushes the envelope, change agility
  • The successful candidate should have specific experience with diverse organizations to accelerate and advance enterprise priorities.

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
