For each pursuit, you will be an integral part of a proposal development team that includes engineers and subject matter experts to manage proposal efforts and incorporate best practices to develop client-centric, visually appealing and compliant sales documents. The role is always interesting, as each proposal has it owns unique blend of Request for Proposal(RFP) requirements and solution offerings to meet a wide range of client needs and lasts only a few days or weeks.The Proposal Specialist position is virtual, with minimal day-to-day supervision as you drive the proposal through completion, but with plenty of team support any time you need it. Our ideal candidate will have leadership skills to drive proposal development, being able to work independently as well as part of a team, having strong writing and InDesign skills and a can-do attitude.Anchored by core values like collaboration and integrity, Black & Veatch is a one-of-a kind in the world of engineering. This means you will be respected on every assignment and have access to the tools to succeed.**Key Responsibilities**--- Manage activities during the development of the RFP response, including kick-off call, reviews, production and interview prep.--- Coach the Proposal Team to identify win themes and client-focused messaging and develop proposal content.--- Develop proposal layout.--- Conceptualize design elements and develop simple graphics.--- Research and gather proposal materials, including drafting non-technical content using boilerplate materials or prior proposals.--- Drive proposal progress to meet scheduled milestones and compliance with the RFP.**Management Responsibilities**Individual Contributor**Preferred Qualifications**--- Strong skills in creative layout using Adobe InDesign and Acrobat required; Photoshop and Illustrator experience desired.--- Confident personality with strong interpersonal skills.--- Experience effectively leading diverse teams and contributors in executing pursuit processes and delivering quality/winning proposals.--- Written and verbal communications skills, including persuasive writing, proofreading and editing.--- Critical thinking and creative problem solving.--- Organizational skills and attention to detail.--- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines.**Minimum Qualifications**Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or a related field; or equivalent experience Experience: 4+ years related experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.**Work Environment/Physical Demands**Typical office environment: Sitting/Standing/Computer-usage for extended periods of time.Speaking/listening.
