This role reports to the Director, Datacenter & Cloud Operations.The role will provide guidance and solution design for a global, multi-cloud architecture supporting a hybrid cloud model across multiple operating companies. You will partner with infrastructure and product team leads to modernize both infrastructure and application architecture, driving towards best practices around Infrastructure as Code, DevOps and associated cloud native platforms.You will be an active member of the Cloud Center of Excellence, working closely with a cross-functional team of Cloud Architects, Security Architects, Application Developers and other business functions to define and govern best practices in Cloud Operations, Application Development and Platform Governance. This is a hands-on Cloud Architect position responsible for delivering detailed designs in all aspects of Cloud Services and platform design from networking, storage and compute to various PaaS and integrated SaaS services.WHAT YOU WILL DO (JOB RESPONSIBILITIES)Lead collaborative design workshops with a cross-functional team of internal customers and vendors.Provide expert level guidance on Cloud design decisions, standards and operational practices.Maintain deep, comprehensive knowledge of Vontier Operating Company application portfolios.Recognize and develop opportunities to leverage Cloud native patterns and practices to drive business value.As a senior technical member of the team, deliver hands-on configuration, development and integration services and serve in a delivery assurance capacity for all project deliverablesPlan and implement Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives for Cloud based solutions aimed at meeting identified business problems.Develop, maintain and communicate architectural standards and patterns.Mentor and provide guidance on best practice principles around Cloud Design and DevOpsWHO YOU AREIdeally have 7+ years of experience with cloud technologies as an Engineer and/or ArchitectComprehensive knowledge of Cloud Services and Design across AWS and Azure.Experience designing and delivering on complex, Hybrid Cloud InfrastructuresExperience delivering and managing Infrastructure as Code using tools such as TerraformExperience with DevOps practices and toolsets, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, CI/CD tools and DevSecOps tools, and some development background preferredStrong with at least one scripting language such as PythonEngaging presentation style, with the ability to control and manage multiple presentation scenariosAbility to work under pressure and work on multiple campaigns at the same timeStrong collaboration skills with an ability to foster consensus among a diverse teamPrefer certifications such as AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional, Azure Certified Solutions ArchitectVontier is a global industrial technology company focused on smarter transportation and mobility.
