The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Cloud Platform Architect, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

* Designing and developing next generation cloud platforms for 3M to support large scale server/application workloads
* Advocating for engineering practices and assist teams in using frameworks for infrastructure as code and immutable infrastructure concepts
* Building full and partial stack components for cloud solutions
* Developing AWS Cloud Formation templates, tools, libraries, and automation code
* Ensuring the quality, consistency, and performance of cloud consumption platforms through fully automated deployments
* Engaging others to positively influence organizational change efforts in cloud and DevOps best practices

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
* Three (3) years of AWS cloud deployment and operational experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

* Five (5) years of AWS cloud deployment and operational experience
* Experience deploying and managing Azure cloud solutions
* Experience writing code in Python or similar languages
* Experience in automating large-scale deployments with modern software configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, Jenkins)
* Work experience with Git and/or GitHub

Work location:

* Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)

Travel: May include minimal travel expectations 5% domestic/international

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
