able to do:
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of Fords Enterprise Data
Centers (EDCs) which includes installation of new IT equipment and
decommissioning of old equipment (ensuring adequate space, and
power)
- Technical lead for major electrical projects related to the
EDCs
- Responsible for the planning and execution of all maintenance
that is done on critical electrical infrastructure in the EDCs
(switchgear, UPS, generators, etc.)
- Serve as an electrical SME for all of Fords data centers in NA
and globally
- Responsible for producing metrics to communicate EDC capacity
info as well as power and water usage to keep senior-level
management informed
- Solicit and negotiate contracts and outside service proposals
for design, maintenance, and construction services related to the
EDCs
- Responsible for developing and standardizing all operating
procedures for maintenance and emergency response procedures
- Routinely inspect and evaluate facility infrastructure for
liabilities related to equipment age/condition, operation cost, or
potential failure. Prioritize recommendations for facility upgrades
and prepare justifications for resources to be included in the
capital or operating budgets
- Advise senior management on potential impact and risk
mitigation strategies related to any planned or unplanned
electrical work that affects the EDCsThe minimum requirements we
seek:
- Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering or a related
field
- 3+ years in Data Center Operations
- 3+ years experience in IT Infrastructure and Environmental
Facilities Management
- 3+ years of experience with operational, implementation, and
decommission processesOur preferred requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively with business users and IT
professionals globally
- Experience launching Large-Scale IT Infrastructure
projects
- Ability to read one-line diagrams
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to simplify technical, complex ideas to a wide,
non-technical audience
