This position location is flexible. All field office locations, Conservation Headquarters, and Home Address may be considered. This position will be required to travel to Conservation Headquarters in Jefferson City as needed (approximately 2 days per month). This position may be eligible for distributive work.

Summary/Objective

Ensure measures, work plans, area plans and budgets across all regions are utilized consistently and align with the strategic plan. The Resource Planning Coordinator will serve as the chair for the Regional Resource Planners work group.

Essential Job Duties

  • Oversee and coordinate RRM Branch's annual development and management of regional and district work plans. Ensure work plans, associated measures, and budgets align with strategic plan.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and guide utilization of the Department's performance measure tracking systems and develop summary reports of Branch accomplishments to communicate challenges and success in achieving strategic plan goals to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee and coordinate the development of new and updated area plans including scheduling, tracking, guiding, conducting, and coordinating review, leading public engagement, managing approvals, and incorporating prescribed actions into regional work plans.
  • Serve as a "dashed line" supervisor, mentor, and liaison to Regional Planners.
  • Serve as branch liaison to SRM Planning Section, OpEx Section, and other planners.
  • Lead process improvement coordination and operational excellence initiatives for Branch.
  • Provide geospatial and database management expertise including spatial and database analysis and modeling to identify opportunities for better allocating resources and to measure progress in achieving branch and agency priorities; serve on Geospatial Coordinating team and Information Technology Steering Committee.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement processes for establishing and updating operational plans for branch activities that are linked to strategic goals and priorities and ensure full and effective use of all available resources within and across regions.
  • Assists Business Section Chief, Assistant Deputy Director, Administrative Manager, and Regions as needed.

      Education and Experience
      • Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Geography, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
      • Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in planning and execution.

        Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
        • Ability to manage and facilitate meetings, focus groups, etc.
        • Plan and schedule meetings and events
        • Ability to manage project proposal processes.
        • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
        • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with Department personnel and the general public.

          Work Environment
          • Work is performed in a standard office environment.

            Physical Abilities
            • Remain in a stationary position up to 70% of the time.
            • Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
            • Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information.
            • Regularly lift up to 15 pounds.
            • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

              Exemption Status/Special Notes

              This position has been determined to be Exempt according to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees must agree to accept compensatory time in lieu of cash payments in accordance with the Department's Compensatory Time Off and Overtime Policy.

              Salaried and hourly employees are expected to use a mobile device-cellular phone for Department business, as needed.
