**Company :** Highmark Health **Job Description :** **JOB SUMMARY** This job is responsible for implementing efficient and compliant storage, retrieval, protection, preservation and disposal of company records, in both physical and electronic form, for a highly matrixed organization. This includes the development and execution of procedures associated with improving existing information governance activities including, but not limited to, enterprise policies, operations, institutionalization of standard practices, training programs, prioritization and execution of activities, testing, contracting, and vendor management. It is accomplished by proactively working with all departments through a collaborative, cooperative, customer focused approach, to ensure accountability for procedures/operations that are in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, industry best practice. **ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES** + Implement records retention schedule, record and information management (RIM) policy, procedures, and programs to ensure best practices across the enterprise while ensuring compliance with data protection laws/regulatory requirements. + Lead timely formal records destruction, including review and management of orphaned files. Coordinate document archival and retrieval system for all off-site document storage. Prepare monthly reports on usage, including financials, destruction schedule, and outstanding recalled documents. + Manage relationships with off-site document vendors, including contract negotiations. + Effectively communicate progress, methodology, and decisioning options to business leaders. Collaborate with various areas including, legal, technology, finance, facilities, and medical records. + Actively seek opportunities for continuous process, technology, and reporting improvement. + Other duties as assigned or requested. **EXPERIENCE** **Required** + 5 years of experience in Information Governance **Preferred** + 5 years of experience in Healthcare Industry **SKILLS** + Demonstrated knowledge of information governance policy and procedures + Knowledge of business processes, particularly as applied to healthcare (payer and provider) + Knowledge of how to leverage technologies to drive an efficient and effective best practice program + Strong resource and project planning capabilities, decision making skills, history of results-oriented delivery, across a global and diverse team + Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences (senior management, board, peer, and team) + Strong relationship building skills and the ability to influence with and without authority in a matrixed organization + Leadership qualities with an ability to motivate and inspire a group of individuals to achieve superior results **EDUCATION** **Required** + Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration/Management, or related field or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree. **Preferred** + Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration/Management, or related field **LICENSES or CERTIFICATIONS** **Required** + None **Preferred** + Information Governance Professional (IGP) + Juris Doctorate **Language (Other than English):** None **Travel Requirement:** 0% - 25% **PHYSICAL, MENTAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS** **Position Type** Office- or Remote-based Teaches / trains others Occasionally Travel from the office to various work sites or from site-to-site Rarely Works primarily out-of-the office selling products/services (sales employees) Never Physical work site required No Lifting: up to 10 pounds Constantly Lifting: 10 to 25 pounds Occasionally Lifting: 25 to 50 pounds Rarely **_Disclaimer:_** _The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
